I served on the Valley Forge from 66-68. I was assigned to the V-1 Div. I recall that we had liberty parties at China Beach. Does anyone else recall same. Also I left the ship in late April 68 and flew to Danang and then Okinawa and then state side for discharge. This was because the 6 month involuntary enlistment extentions were stopped. Anyone else recall either. I have type II diabetes and I am trying to show that I was ashore in Vietnam. A seven year writing campaign with NARA/PRC has not lead to my service record being found.
