Tommy was born on June 6, 1947 in Lawrenceburg, IN and died on March 2, 1967 as a proud United States Marine at Quang Tri, Vietnam.

He was just a super nice guy and one you would be proud to know and have as a friend. He always had a smile on his face and it's a shame he didn't get to continue on with his life.

He's one of America's true heroes and we can never forget young men like him who answer the call of their country and do so willingly.

Stop and think of the freedoms you enjoy in the USA and pay tribute to Tommy and the rest of our VETERANS !!!

Russell, you were so young(19) when you died in Guam. Three more of our friends didn't make it back. I still remember our good times and want to thank you for the memories. Miss you.

My dad, a veteran of the Korean War who served from 1949 through 1951 on the USS Valley Forge. Died October 16, 1963. Will always be remembered lovingly by his family.

I think about you all the time; wishing that you were here. I got married to a wonderful man on Tuesday, his name is Matt. Your first great grand baby is due Aug. 22nd. His name is Connor.

TMCM Jimmy Mayes was my father. He was a torpedo man on nuclear submarines. My father died in 1977 while on active duty. He was my hero.

This is just the most touching page I have visited! We have adopted more than 200 soldiers and we wish them all a safe and speedy return home to their families!

I never knew him.He was my uncle and died while at Yuma AFB in 1956.I would be thrilled to speak w/anyone who knew him.

It was an honor being Travis Ford's Drill Instrutor in 1991 as well as serving with him and Ben Sammis during operation's Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom as thier Maintenance Officer. My God bless them and their families! Semper Fi.

Thinking of you this Fourth of July, 36 years after our last time together, we said our farwell before you left for Vietnam.Your loving smile, the tender touch of your arms around me meant so much, I miss you with each fallen tear. My dad was in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.He served on Peleliu,and Okinawa. He recieved the silver star, and purple heart. He never spoke of either battle. After reading about what he and many others went through I can understand why. I only wish I knew sooner,I would have thanked him for his bravery, honor and dedication to his country. He passed away in 1980. Thanks Dad. I love you.

I honor the men, both living and dead, of B co.126th Ord. Bn. 4th Armored Div.stationed at Montieth Barracks Furth, Germany in the early 1960's.I was proud to serve with you. I will always remember you as the greatest group of men in the U.S.Army. Cold War Warriors all. We helped hold the line to keep the Russians out of Europe. No glory or medels for us, just hard work.The 4th Armored and B co. 126th Ord. are no more, but will always be remembered with Pride....as a great outfit.

George Tillery was a true hero. He served his country for 30 years, first as an artillery soldier charged with clearing the beaches for the first Army landing on Guadalcanal, later as a U.S. military adviser (MAAG) to Shang-Kai-Schek's People's Repbulic of China, and still later in Saigon. One of the first members of Army Aviation, he was a charter member of the "Cub Club" - the pioneers of Army Aviation. He served in D.C. for the FAA and the Inspector General's office. He later commanded several aviation units across the U.S., including Ft. Richardson, Alaska and Ft. Rucker. He was active both in military and civilian life. Though he struggled with cancer for several years, he lived life to the fullest. He died with close family and friends surrounding him; just what he'd have wanted. The world will miss George Tillery for a long, long time.

I wish to honor my beloved father, who was in the Army in WWII at Leyte, Phillipines and got malaria there but made it home. Sadly he died in 1964 of cancer and I miss him to this day. I am proud of what he did for our country, and proud of all our veterans.

In memory of Norman Gaspard, a Navy Gulf War Veteran, who died February 16, 2001 with Desert Storm Syndrome (DSS). He will always be remembered and missed.

A Father and More

He was a father,

32nd Infantry Division 126th Infantry Regiment Company D World War II New Guinea Costal Campaign. 32nd Inf Div involved in 600+ Days of consecutive Combat. Injured September 1944. He was a veteran of the 316th Engineering Battalion B Company 91st Division U. S. Army serving during W. W. II in Africa and Italy. Bill paid a great price for our country sustaining an injury for which he received a purple heart.
He has now joined the heavenly forces and will be missed by many.
