Thomas George Denning
floral tribute
Tommy was born on June 6, 1947 in Lawrenceburg, IN and died on March 2, 1967 as a proud United States Marine at Quang Tri, Vietnam.

He was just a super nice guy and one you would be proud to know and have as a friend. He always had a smile on his face and it's a shame he didn't get to continue on with his life.

He's one of America's true heroes and we can never forget young men like him who answer the call of their country and do so willingly.

Stop and think of the freedoms you enjoy in the USA and pay tribute to Tommy and the rest of our VETERANS !!!

My Uncles, LT and Unc
floral tribute
A Soldier
Signing up to fight for Uncle Sam
Getting on a plane to a foreign land
Grabbing his gear for months to come
Willing to give his life for our freedom
Going on patrols, time after time
Hearing from home, not one time
Finishing his tour as the war ends
Turned in his gear, departing with friends
Getting off the plane, one by one
Realizing now, he was alone
Nobody cared what he had done
But criticized, that he had gone
Time came and went
When fighting arose,
the soldiers were sent
He wrote letters,
but in returned got none
Seeing fellow soldiers take the fall
Never forgetting, all gave some
Some Gave All

Kristen Powell
August 16, 2003

A Veteran Salute
Going on patrols not knowing what's lurking in the grass
Not making a sound as hours pass
Mines and pits are a caution
When a fellow comrade becomes a victim of an explosion
Eyes are fixed ahead and all around
One slight move or sound,
Soldiers take cover and hit the ground
Fathers, daughters, mothers and sons
Coming together as a nation of one
Willing to give their life for our freedom and land
Side by side, man to man, united they stand.
Kristen Powell June 6, 2003
VETERANS
Serving this country of ours with pride
Putting your life on the line, time after time
Seeing fellow comrades come and go
Freedom comes with a price, every soldier knows
Both World Wars, Korea, The Gulf and Viet Nam
Men and women coming together fighting for Uncle Sam
Some hate and turn their head as they walk by
They don't appreciate the price that was paid
Or the heroes, who have died
Soldiers should be thanked and remembered for
Answering the call
For every soldier, gave it their all.

George G. Tillery, (COL, Ret., U.S. Army)
floral tribute
George Tillery was a true hero. He served his country for 30 years, first as an artillery soldier charged with clearing the beaches for the first Army landing on Guadalcanal, later as a U.S. military adviser (MAAG) to Shang-Kai-Schek's People's Repbulic of China, and still later in Saigon. One of the first members of Army Aviation, he was a charter member of the "Cub Club" - the pioneers of Army Aviation. He served in D.C. for the FAA and the Inspector General's office. He later commanded several aviation units across the U.S., including Ft. Richardson, Alaska and Ft. Rucker. He was active both in military and civilian life. Though he struggled with cancer for several years, he lived life to the fullest. He died with close family and friends surrounding him; just what he'd have wanted. The world will miss George Tillery for a long, long time.

Norman D. Gaspard
flowers
In memory of Norman Gaspard, a Navy Gulf War Veteran, who died February 16, 2001 with Desert Storm Syndrome (DSS). He will always be remembered and missed.

A Father and More

He was a father,
Both caring and strict,
Raising his three teenagers
The only way he knew.

He was a husband:
Married twenty years,
And still loved his wife
As strongly as when wedding bells rang.

He was a teacher
To all he met.
He never taught the three R's,
but something that goes deeper.

He was a warrior
Fighting an internal battle,
Struggling within himself
Each and every day.

He was all this
And more.
He's part of my life,
A part I'm proud of.
