On Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 15:05:50 a tribute was placed here to Honor Major Robert Ernest Rausch
I found a POW/MIA bracelet from the 70's with his name and date of loss on it in a thrift shop in Bayville, NY. It is such a shame to see something this important laying in a box being ignored. To make things worse, the shop people thought it was an ID bracelet..... They had no idea what it was and what it represents. I rescued it and researched Major Rausch's bio on the internet. The date of 4/16/70 is significant to me as it was just before I left Viet Nam to come home.....safe and in good shape. My heart goes out to his family. I am going to make a plaque with his info and breacelet and , if I can find one, his unit patch. It will go up on the "memorial wall" in my gun room along with the others representing the service of all the veterans in my family, some of whom also did not come home. Robert, I will remember. by Tom Farley from Islip, NY E-mail address: twfarley@yahoo.com |

Our family's heart continues to break as we repeatedly see the ever-increasing number missing servicemen whose cases are being closed out with only minimal human remains (if any) being returned from Southeast Asia in which no mt-DNA testing has been done and and no positive identification has been made whatsoever. Yet these men are nonetheless considered to be "accounted for" by our government~ And from that, we're expected to lay it all to rest by establishing the U.S. accounting agencies' definition of "closure." We just never imagined in our most vivid nightmare that you would be among those to be subjected to such a fate. James, our prayers still continue for you and all of your crew that our government now claims are laid to rest at Arlington. But for us~ as well as for the families of many of the other crew members, the unrest goes on. However, if it's God's will, the answers will come in His own time. Our ongoing search toward learning your true fate will continue and is not in vain. Answers will come at the pace that God sees that we're able to grasp them and follow through with actions toward resolution. Meanwhile, may He keep you safe until that time is granted. TO BE LEFT BEHIND BY ONE'S OWN NATION IS TRAGIC~ TO BE TWICE-ABANDONED IS UNFORGIVABLE !! by Amanda Y. Kidd~ Relative of CMSgt. James A. My brother, Jerry, dies suddenly 11/01/03. He so proudly served in the US Army and VietNam 1967-1969. He was such a patriot! He loved his country so much and would have done anything for the USA. He was stationed at Fort Bliss until his departure to VietNam. He introduced me to his best friend(my husband) at Fort Bliss and who he volunteered to go early to VietNam so they could be together.. They spent their tour of duty together over there and came home 2 days apart. Jerry, we love you and miss you so much. There is such an ache in our hearts.
