You have been in my thoughts everyday and in everyone of those days, I always think of the love we shared for each other. To honor the greatest man I know, my "Papa" Hinson. He's was a couragous man who also served in the Korean War in the 50's. I love you and God Blesss all who serve and haved served for our country!

I would like to honor my husband who served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years. During this he was in the: Iran Tehran war of 1979, Beirut, Lebanon, Falkland Island,and the first Iraq wars to free kuwait in 1991. I am very proud of him for standing up for our country, and being home with me and our son today.

My grandpa served in the U.S Army during WWII. He received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal; Purple Heart; Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was in the 823rd tank destroyer battalion "C" co. and was in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes, Nortern France and Central Europe. He never spoke of anything that happened and that's okay because we are very proud to know he survived physically and we loved him very much.

Ken Beaudrie was the toughest person I ever knew. When I went in the Army in 1986 he supported me 100%, even though he was a career Marine. Uncle Ken never bragged about his career in the Marines, although he had reason to. I will never forget Ken Beaudrie and what he did for our country. Thanks Uncle Ken, rest well my friend. on July 31, 1944 in Normandy. You will never be forgotten. Jim was a Tsgt. in the 28Th Division "Bloody Bucket" 112Th Regiment.

On july 20,2004 E-4 Specialist Danny Bruce Daniels II gave his life for us. and we are very proud of him. and we love and miss you very much. thanks for everything Danny.

Uncle George entered the service on 3/4/43 He was in the 187th GLI INF Paratroop Unit, 11th airborne Div. He was killed on Luzon on 2/17/45 He had 3 other brothers who served their country. Like all those who served their country in WWII he was very special person. Thank You Uncle George and all who have given their lives for our freedom.

My dad was at Schofield Barracks on December 7, 1941. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he fought throughout the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant. He died in 1968. I miss him.

My father died on March 23, 2003. He served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. He was always proud of the flag and honored it loyally. I miss him tremendously. His sense of humor was loved by all and I miss the way he patted me on the back when he hugged me. He died three months and 2 days before his first grandson was born. William looks so much like him and I am doing my best to raise him to know the grandfather he will never truly know. Daddy, I miss you and will love you forever. God gave me the best Daddy a girl could ever have. I love you and I carry our memories in my heart. I know that you cannot come to be with me here on Earth, but one day I will come to be with you and God in Heaven.

Mother, I will always remember your beautiful face. From your younger photo's, your Marine corps photos from WWII, your wedding picture with Daddy, and the ones we took growing up. I WAS ABOARD THE MANSFIELD THAT DAY, THAT RICHARD WAS HIT BY THE SCRAPMETAL..I remember him as a real good person and a fine sailor. Has been a long time since that day, but sometimes it comes back to me, just like it was yesterday!

Timothy is my youngest and I miss him so much. Allthough he is leagally an adult, he will always be my baby. I don't watch the news, because I know to them these "body counts" are only ratings. To me, they are someone's husband, brother, father or son. God bless them all!

At 50+ years of age, Jack has answered the call to active duty leaving his family and home in the mid-west behind to serve overseas in the war on terrorism. I am honored he calls me a friend since school days on Cape Cod.

With so much daily news focus on Iraq, we tend to forget there are thousands serving around the world - Afghanistan, Philippines, Bosnia, Haiti and beyond. Please know today you also are being honored.

As the nation dedicated the National World War II Memorial today, we feel it is only right to add our special "THANK YOU" to all members of the Greatest Generation. World War II impacted all Americans whether on the battlefields or at home. On December 7, 1941 lives of all Americans changed. For the next three and a half years, a common purpose united Americans who, through perseverance, prevailed.

It is with great pride that we remember our parents, aunts, and uncles - part of the Greatest Generation. The following is an Honor Roll of our family members who donned a uniform during those fateful years of world history.

To a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather who set the best example for all of us on how to live our life to the fullest and appreciate each day we have.

Served honerably in Vietnam. Made it home but did not survive the aftermath. He was a son, a brother, a husband and father of a son he never got to see. He will always be in my heart.

Your service has made my life easy, With no enemies on our soil to worry over. I can travel anywhere in the USA. without fear. Thank you very much.

It was not until my father passed away and we were at his memorial service that we children learned our father had been wounded three times while in World War II. He never spoke of his service years. My grandmother also kept newspaper articles he had sent to her of where he was stationed and he wrote notes on the newspapers as well. No one knows why he chose to never speak of this time period in his life. But I have come to understand the meaning of the phrase "War is hell"

You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart. Your memories will help cover the void in my life and you will forever be remembered for your ultimate sacrifice to our country. I love you. Your sis, Nell

I am so proud of my father who served in WWII in Leyte Island, Phillippines as a medic in the Army. He came home from the war but died from cancer 19 years later. I will forever miss him terribly.

John William Thomas DeMaster,a Navy WW2 Veteran, was my father. He was at Pearl Harbor the day it was attacked. I have good memories of my father and the virtues and examples that he set for us. Without his courage, strength, and clean loyalty to the family, I would not have made the strong single parent and mother of three that I am. I believe it was his parental upbringing, christian faith and the United States Navy that made this all possible.

Stephen, You were a good friend, and one heck of a ballplayer. Eventhough it's been over 30yrs, your still missed. You were one of the first guys in the neighborhood to go to Viet Nam. Thank you from all the "DUKES" you'll always be one of us. GOD BLESS YOU, Ciro

Although I had moved away and didn't know any of the heroes that died in Viet Nam, I want to say think you to the seven from Hobbs and to all who served to keep America free. As they were about my age, I still feel the pain of their loss. My deepest sympathy to their families. Know I feel for you.

I never knew my uncle Joe. He served in the Army 22nd Infantry regiment, 4th Infantry Division, during WWII. He died 6 months after joining. He's buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium. My grandfather, William Braden served in the Army Air Forces in WWII in the 386th Bomb Group, 555th Bomb Squad. I lost my grandfather when I was 10 (1976) but I'll never forget either man. To all the men and women who have ever served or will ever serve this country my thoughts and prayers are with you! Thank you!!

We thank all those who served in the armed conflict and those who continue to be engaged in the dangerous actions of securing and reconstructing Iraq.
