On this the eve before Veterans Day, would like to say THANK YOU!! to all who have stood their "Watch" so all may enjoy the freedoms we have today. It is you and all our fellow Veterans that know, Freedom is never Free, That All Gave Some and far to Many Gave All. We reserve Memorial Day as the Day to Honor those who have gone to their "Post Everlasting", but Veterans Day is the time to Honor All Veterans, those who still walk among us, as well as those who have gone on their "Last Patrol". Let us not forget to Honor those who serve today, for they are our fellow Veterans of tomorrow. As they pass in Harm's Way during these troubled times, may we pray that God will keep them safe. Again THANK YOU my fellow Veterans, it has been an Honor to have served with you. A very special Thank You to my son CPO Kelvin Jacobs ADCS,who has served with honor in the U.S. Navy for the last 26 years. May God safely return him to his family when his long voyage is completed. If I could choose one day to live over again, there would be no hesitation. November 10, 1965, 190th Birthday of the Marine Corps, the day I met you, and the day that changed my life forever. How often do I think of you, it's hard to conceive of a number. Do I calculate by years, months or days. The void runs too deep. I often wonder "what could have been?" Then the thought is gone, for it was just not meant to be. Your memory lives within my heart and soul, forever and a day. You will never be forgotten. On Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 07:14:50 a tribute was placed here to Honor Robert Cola Patterson
I SALUTE YOU MY HERO 04/15/1944-05/30/2004 MY HUSBAND....MY BEST FRIEND Bob passed away on May 30 2004 from Cancer and other health problems caused by Agent Orange. He was in the 40th Battalion of the Signal Corp, 972 Unit served from 4/1966 to 4/1967. Bob was a Proud American and we were Proud to have known him. He taught me how to smile when I wanted to cry To give freely without looking back, To never take anything for granted, To appreciate that I lived in a land that was free And on every Veterans Day when we went to the Parade he taught me how to cry Openly with pride. His last Veterans Day parade was November of 2003 This year he was too sick to go to the Parade and I knew I could not just let it pass so Me and one of our Grandaughters Krista went and bought him a vase of red white and blue flowers with a flag in it and I saluted him and saluted all the other soldiers past and present for him. I was sure Proud to be that soldiers wife. He never got to see his flowers or see the Salute for he left that morning to meet and greet the other Soldiers who had went on before him. From all of us who knew you we say Job well done. Forever missed by Wife, Sons, Daughters, Grandchildren, and Friends. by Beverly Patterson from Terre Haute, IN E-mail address: bevpat48@msn.com |

I still remember when you came from 1st tour Vietnam you stood tall 6ft in your Army Greens and that sharp Green Beret always I was honored to walk with you. Then that Nov 17, 1967 on your 2nd tour of Nam after several months in combat we got the telegram which nobody belived was real. Yet to see you on that coffin so quiet and calm I guess the good Lord needed a tall Sgt in Heaven. He will always be in our lives, my brother The Green Beret tall and sharp. He always was very kind and a gentelman. Every time I see a soldier I remember him. God Bless You though we don't see you we have not forgoten you.
